Our Mission & Vision

A Unified Front

Combating Human Trafficking Together

The mission of the The North Carolina Association of Human Trafficking Investigators is to enhance the professional response to human trafficking by providing advanced training, fostering collaboration among agencies, and supporting the rigorous investigation and prosecution of trafficking crimes.

We recognize that human trafficking is a complex, multi-jurisdictional crime that requires a unified, victim-centered approach. By bringing together law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and allied professionals, we aim to dismantle trafficking networks and provide justice for survivors.

The Context

Why We Exist

North Carolina's geography, with its major interstate highways and growing population centers, makes it a critical area for human trafficking activity. Investigators face unique challenges in identifying victims, navigating legal complexities, and dealing with organized criminal enterprises.

NCHTI was founded to bridge the gap between agencies. We serve as a central hub for sharing intelligence, standardizing best practices, and ensuring that every officer has the tools necessary to tackle these sensitive and demanding cases.
